Are You Listening to Your Customers?

Last week we launched our 90 Day Catapult program – our new online learning series – and several people came back to us to ask if we could add more coaching to the mix.

So we did it.

With just a few tweaks to our website, and the addition of a product to our shopping cart, we responded to our customers’ needs.  Easy peasy.

How well are you listening to your customers? Here are a few tips:

TWEAKING TITLES AND ADDING PROGRAMS:

Let’s say you are out on the road speaking on the subject of strengthening teams and the topic of communication arises again and again.  Why wouldn’t you add a workshop on team communication (provided it is a strength of yours)?

Please note, I am NOT suggesting that you turn on a dime every time someone says “we really need this”.

It’s difficult to be all things to all people. But if you could expand your content, while remaining true to your expertise, then listen to what your market needs.

Joe Calloway says this:  “If I see a pattern of clients commenting on how they are using my work to help them take performance to the next level, then I might actually develop a program and title based on that.”

LEARN HOW PEOPLE WANT TO CONSUME YOUR EXPERTISE:

A few weeks ago, we ran a survey – thank you all for responding.  We learned that people do like to work in groups as well as on their own – and that’s why we’ll be continuing with our Wealthy Speaker University Bachelors and Masters Platinum classes in the New Year.

Running surveys is a great way to see what people really want from you.

BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR NEW PRODUCTS:

Dan Miller, author of “48 Days to the Work you Love” told me once that if he was asked for a product three times, he would develop that product. He’s got a huge fan base, so when he launches a new offering, they are standing by, ready to purchase.

When we keep our ear to the ground for growing trends and what our customers really want from us, it allows us to serve them better.
