Last week I went to my quarterly coaching session. It is a business tune-up, which I love, and the topic we concentrated on was marketing. Our instructor asked a question, “How good are you at marketing?” I thought to myself, “I think I do pretty well in this area.” When comparing notes with my classmates, I was on track. I even realized that I take some of the things we do for granted.
As I was going through this exercise, I kept thinking of how helpful this information would be to share with my community. Marketing is a business area I know many struggle with. To help, I listed out all the marketing initiatives we undertake at Speaker Launcher so I could provide you with a checklist to see if there were a few you might want to consider adding to your business.
Before we dive into the list, here are a few things to consider:
- You do not have to do all of these, work within your strengths (i.e., if writing is torture, figure out another avenue to touch your clients and prospect regularly.)
- Don’t take on too many initiatives at once. Pace yourself.
- Consistency is the key. When you take on a marketing initiative, commit to doing it regularly.

It takes time, and a strong team, to develop and execute a fully comprehensive marketing strategy for your business. Again, it does not all have to be done all at once. Look at the list above and think of which activity will give you the biggest bang for the buck (and time) and that you can be consistent with executing. Start there. Then when you are ready, tie in the next piece that compliments the first and then the next and the next. Before you know it, you will have a fully functioning marketing machine!
