Have you given any thought to what your money story is?
What is it that you grew up believing about money?
About how to make money?
About successful people, and about rich people?
In some people’s households, rich people were evil, and money was always scarce.
What was the story you grew up with?
My dad always said “money doesn’t grow on trees”, and what my young mind made up about that was that you have to work really, really hard in order to make a lot of money. Maybe this sounds familiar.
I have since learned that you can map out exactly how much you want to work, and still earn the amount of money that you want. And I think that’s a beautiful thing! The 4 Hour Work Week was a book that just totally changed my whole idea and paradigm about money and what was possible in life. And my dad, well, right up until he passed away would always laugh at me about taking Fridays off, because he thought it was hilarious that I could earn this much money and not work a full five-day work week.
So I just wanted to shine a light on this and nudge you to start thinking about what your money story is, and is it serving you? Is it time for a new money story?
I’ll see you soon, Wealthy speakers.
