Quote: “Those to remember in times of stress…here’s the 5 that we tend to forget. The word is REACH: relaxation, exercise, avocation, communication and humor.” Mark Mayfield
Today, we’re diving into a topic that hits close to home for almost every speaker, entrepreneur, and high-performer I know: mental health. Let’s be honest—in the fast-paced world of professional speaking (and just life in general), most of us are carrying a heavier load than we care to admit. To help us navigate these waters, I’ve invited the brilliant Mark Mayfield to the show. We’re discussing his powerful book, “I’m Not Okay, You’re Not Okay, And That’s Okay,” and walking through the practical coping strategies you need to stay resilient, healthy, and ready for the stage.
Mark has one of the most diverse backgrounds in the speaking industry, having owned and operated several businesses ranging from livestock production to golf instruction, and spent ten years as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C. It’s pretty simple what Mark does: he talks about very serious stuff in a very funny way. He has received rave reviews for sharing the stage with a wide variety of celebrities, including Peter Frampton, Rachel Platten, Andy Grammer, Colin Powell, and Bob Newhart, and has introduced the President of the United States on a live, nationwide television broadcast.
